Jannat El Harrak - Curriculum
Jannat El Harrak
Jannat El Harrak is a deeply inspired artist, drawing her creativity from the beauty of nature, which she thoughtfully observes and eloquently conveys, as well as from the rich history of art and the brilliance of her predecessors. Quoting masters such as Monet, Turner, and other great painters, she immerses herself in the essence of the Belle Époque, orientalism, and exoticism, transforming her canvases into expansive, open spaces.
Her inspiration springs from both external observations and internal reflections, moving from the sensitive exterior to the most intimate depths. With flawless technique, she is like a virtuoso musician, using her brush as an instrument to evoke powerful emotions.
When you contemplate her compositions—always impeccably arranged—and allow yourself to be enveloped by the radiant light she creates, it’s as if you are drawn into a meditative state, experiencing feelings, emotions, déjà vu, subtle nods, and tributes. Flirting with the perfection of balance, her work enchants, mesmerizes, and soothes both the mind and the heart.
Originally from Tangier, where painting was part of her academic upbringing, Jannat is now an adopted daughter of Barcelona, a city that nourishes her love for Iberian culture and is a fundamental part of her identity.
Her social work with NGOs, focusing on immigrants, women, children, and victims of war, is clearly reflected in the emotions captured in her paintings.
Self-taught, Jannat has been fortunate to encounter mentors who believed in her talent and guided her toward expressing her innate ability with both precision and sensitivity. With a profound sense of feminine freedom, she crafts powerful, evocative works that showcase her perfect technique.
A passionate and dedicated visual artist, Jannat explores various styles, techniques, and mediums in her painting. Her work delves into cultural and emotional narratives, exploring themes of identity, nature, and the human experience. With a proven history of exhibiting her art locally and internationally, she strives to create pieces that resonate with diverse audiences, evoking thought, emotion, and connection.
